sciences po homepage master homepage academic affairs homepage student account google apps search this site: faculty programs phd students & post docs research working papers contact -- seminars rss feed seminars | all seminars | contact 03-09-2018 | departmental seminar: gérard roland (visiting faculty, on leave from uc berkeley) gérard roland is e. morris cox professor of economics and professor of political science at the university of california at berkeley. he is also a cepr research fellow, where he was programme director between 1995 and 2006. he serves as editor of the journal of comparative economics, and was an associate editor for several other journals. he has received a number of awards and honours, notably the medal of the university of helsinki, and named officier de l'ordre de leopold ii. he was a fellow at the center for advanced studies in behavioral sciences in stanford in 1998-1999, programme chair of the fifth nobel symposium in economics devoted to the economics of transition in 1999. he was named jean monnet professor at universite libre de bruxelles in 2001 and received an honorary professorship of renmin university of china in 2002. professor roland is specialised in political economics as well as comparative and institutional economics. his current research focuses on institutions and development, culture and economics, political institutions and economic outcomes, reforms in china and north korea, the european parliament and european institutions. gérard roland will present a paper at the first departmental seminar of the academic year: title: tba more about gérard roland and his research the next departmental seminar will host s. nageeb ali on september 10th. 10-09-2018 | departmental seminar: s. nageeb ali (penn state) s. nageeb ali is associate professor of economics at penn state university. he is a member of the board of editors of the american economic review and was associate editor for the journal of economic behavior and organizations from 2012 to 2013. before joining penn state, he was an assistant professor at ucsd, a visiting and consulting researcher at microsoft foundation new england and a visiting professor at harvard for a semester. he has received a number of awards for teaching and refereeing. professor ali is specialised in microeconomic theory and is currently working on a research project -
